The Canberra Capitals finished the 2013-2014 WNBL season a high on Friday night, defeating the West Coast Waves 73-50.

The Club is looking ahead to a bright 2014-15 season, with big things on the horizon, and used its final match of the season to give the crowd a glimpse of the future Capitals.

The team’s young talent proved it’s worth, complimenting established stars such as Abby Bishop and Jess Bibby brilliantly, enabling the Capitals to have complete control of the contest by half-time.

A big win completes a challenging season which has seen the side face an extremely tough travel schedule, mounting injuries and a plethora of challenges.

Canberra never stopped fighting and looks forward to next season, with a move from the Basketball ACT banner to a new training base and management system at the University of Capital currently being negotiated.

Superstar Lauren Jackson is also set to return to the Club on a three-season WNBL deal.

Sports Wizard® will also continue working with the Capitals next season, and has a heap of strategic activities lined up with Canberra Coach and our head of basketball, Carrie Graf, over the off-season.

From everyone at Sports Wizard, congratulations to the Canberra Capitals on finishing the season on a high… get ready for a big 2014-15 season!
